
The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) collects and disseminates information on the theory and practice of external quality assurance in higher education. ASIIN e. V. has been a member of INQAAHE since March 2006.

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) was established on 4 November 2004 in Frankfurt am Main. Members are European agencies for accreditation and quality assurance from 22 countries. ASIIN e. V. has been a member since February 2007.

The Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) is a regional network of quality assurance agencies in the Asia-Pacific region. It promotes the networking of quality assurance agencies, the exchange of good practices, and the establishment of national quality assurance systems at HEIs. ASIIN e. V. has been a member of APQN with “Observer” status.

The International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) is an international network of engineering education stakeholders from across the globe. It aims to connect stakeholders of engineering education worldwide and to promote internationality in engineering education with regard to educational contents and goals and recognition of qualification. The current 35 members originate from all regions of the world: engineering associations, faculty conferences and industry. ASIIN e. V. has been a member of IFEES since 2007.

The European Chemistry Thematic Network Association (ECTNA) is an institution of the EU’s Sokrates/Eramus Programme. It is the body responsible for the Eurobachelor® and Euromaster® labels for degree programmes in engineering and chemistry. Within the project financed by EU funds, learning outcome criteria for awarding the label were developed. ASIIN e. V. is a member of ECTNA and authorised to award the Eurobachelor® and Euromaster® label within its accreditation procedure for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in chemistry.
ASIIN e. V., as the first continental European accreditation agency, has been accepted as provisional member of the Washington Accord (W.A.) as of 11 June 2003. The Washington Accord is an international alliance of bodies accrediting engineering programmes in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and South Africa. W.A. members have agreed on recognising their respective accreditation decisions as substantially equivalent. ASIIN e. V. is currently undergoing a review process to achieve full member status in the Washington Accord in order to promote the professional mobility of German engineers with the international recognition of accredited engineering degree programmes.

EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education) is an umbrella organisation which maintains the European register for accreditation and quality assurance agencies. The register was founded by the four large European organisations in the area of quality assurance in higher education – ENQA, ESU, EUA and EURASHE – and identifies the agencies which fulfil the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG). ASIIN e. V. has been a member of the register since 2008.

On 29 January 2008, the authority overseeing the universities of applied sciences in Switzerland (“Eidgenössisches Volkswirtschaftsdepartment (EVD)”) included ASIIN e. V. in its List of Authorised Agencies. ASIIN e. V. is authorised to conduct accreditation visits to degree programmes of universities of applied sciences in Switzerland in preparation for the accreditation decision taken by the EVD.

Since 01 January 2006, ASIIN e. V. has been included in the list of visiting and assessing bodies authorised by the Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatie Organisatie (NVAO). After a thorough review of its requirements and procedures, ASIIN e. V. has been authorised to conduct accreditation visits to higher education institutions in the Netherlands. The NVAO accepts reports prepared by ASIIN e. V. as basis for its accreditation decisions.
