International accreditation
ASIIN e. V. believes that, on the one hand, quality of higher education is shaped by national and regional particularities and that, on the other hand, it represents a universal demand, which is shared in the globalised world beyond borders.
ASIIN e. V. therefore also offers quality reviews at an international level.
In the framework of international accreditation, the following principles apply:
- The content-related core of the ASIIN General Criteria is decisive for the award of the ASIIN quality seal, irrespective of the country the organisation applying for accreditation is located in. This applies, for example, to the learning outcome orientation, the feasibility of the course, the expert and professional quality features, the efficiency of the organisation reviewed, including its (QM) management competence, as well as the directives of ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) and EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education).
- Those parts of the ASIIN General Criteria related to the implementation of specific national and regional structural features and legal provisions may not be applied in other countries or regions. This element is adapted to national or regional standards, if necessary, and as long as it does not conflict with the content-related core of the ASIIN General Criteria. Thus, for example, the structural directives of the German states are not applied to procedures outside of Germany, while, for example, the directives of the local regulatory authorities are taken into account for procedures in Switzerland and Kazakhstan.
The quality reviews offered by ASIIN at a European and international level refer to the evaluation of degree programmes in engineering, informatics, natural sciences and mathematics, and to QM systems.
